49ers-Cardinals injury report: Dante Pettis close; Pierre Garcon doubtful

SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers moved toward this week's game against the Cardinals by getting one wide receiver back but likely losing another.

Rookie Dante Pettis was cleared to practice in a walk-through last week. Fortunately for the 49ers, Pettis believes he'll be able to get back on the field this Sunday in Arizona.

Veteran Pierre Garcon, on the other hand, has been dealing with multiple injuries throughout the season, and the team already has declared him doubtful for Sunday’s game. He is listed with both a shoulder and knee injury, but coach Kyle Shanahan reported that the knee injury is the more concerning of the two.

Running back Matt Breida also was held out of practice Wednesday, but Shanahan did not rule him out yet.

“We’re going to look at him throughout the week,” Shanahan said. “He’s looking a lot better these last two days than he did on Sunday. We’re definitely giving him today off. We’ll see how he is tomorrow. If he’s good, we’ll throw him in practice and evaluate him from there.”
