Starting-quarterback-for-now Nick Mullens will have the luxury on Sunday night of directing his throws toward the 49ers' top two pass-catchers.
Mullens will make his second consecutive start on Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo remains out of action after sustaining a high ankle sprain on Sept. 20 against the New York Jets.
Top wide receiver Deebo Samuel will make his season debut, and All-Pro tight end George Kittle returns to action after missing the past two games.

Samuel will be activated off injured reserve after looking impressive during his first three practices with the club since he underwent surgery in June to repair a fractured left foot. Kittle returns to action after missing the past two games with a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. He sustained the injury in the 49ers' Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers will again not have the services of top running back Raheem Mostert, who is out with a knee injury he sustained on the widely panned artificial surface field at MetLife Stadium in Week 2 against the Jets. Mostert leads the 49ers with 148 yards rushing on 23 attempts in two games.
The 49ers will again go with Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson as the team's top running backs. McKinnon has 139 yards on 20 rushing attempts. Rookie JaMycal Hasty will be up again from the practice squad to serve as the No. 3 back. The 49ers are expected to be without Tevin Coleman for at least another two games with a knee sprain. The 49ers placed Coleman on injured reserve last week.

The 49ers ruled out Emmanuel Moseley (concussion) and Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring).
Moseley was diagnosed with a concussion in the first half of the 49ers' game last week against the Giants. He has yet to pass through the five-phase return to play NFL protocol in order to be cleared to play on Sunday night.
Cornerback Jason Verrett will make consecutive starts for the first time since the first four weeks of the 2016 season.
Veteran Dontae Johnson, who took Moseley's spot last week, is in line for his first start since 2017. He started each of the 49ers' 16 games that season. The 49ers did to re-sign him for the 2018 season.
