Deebo sets NFL record, then throws incredible trick-play TD pass

NFL records were being rewritten across to the league in Week 18 on Sunday and 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel got in on the fun against the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium.

On the opening drive of the second half, Deebo was lined up in the back field next to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. He took the handoff and capped a seven-play, 75-yard drive with a 16-yard rushing touchdown, cutting the Rams' lead to 17-10.

The score gave Deebo eight rushing touchdowns this season, setting an NFL record for the most by a wide receiver.

With the 49ers banged up at running back all season, coach Kyle Shanahan has deployed Deebo out of the backfield with regularity and they have found a lot of success with it.

Deebo entered Sunday's game with 320 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 51 carries, and he added to those numbers against the Rams.

Deebo wasn't done there. On the 49ers' second drive of the third quarter, he once again lined up next to Garoppolo and took the handoff. But instead of running upfield, he sprinted towards the hear sideline and then threw a 24-yard game-tying touchdown to Jauan Jennings.

Deebo is doing everything to make sure the 49ers' season continues with an NFC playoff game next weekend.
