The 49ers chose Trey Lance with the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and a collective sigh of relief can be heard throughout the Bay Area.
North Dakota State's QB was a popular pick amongst 49ers fans, and it seems as if Lance's alma mater is pleased with the selection as well (cue the iconic "Step Brothers" reference).
If looks could tell you something, it's that Kyle Shanahan has been a big fan of his new franchise QB for a while now. Lance's ability as a dual-threat QB is something many have pegged as a necessity for any good Shanahan system.
It's officially "Trey Day in the Bay," or "Trey Area" as some have already coined it. Lance has already brought plenty of excitement to the 49ers organization, with plenty more to come as he battles it out in training camp with current starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo.
