Cardinals RB Benjamin trucks 49ers' Kirkpatrick on TD run

The 49ers were getting steamrolled figuratively by the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday at Levi's Stadium, and then running back Eno Benjamin made it literal.

With the Cardinals already leading 24-7 in the third quarter and driving at the 49ers' 21-yard line, Benjamin took the handoff on second-and-5 and hit the open hole on the left side.

49ers cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick came up and attempted to make the tackle, but Benjamin ran right over the defensive back en route to a touchdown to put the Cardinals up 31-7. Benjamin trucked Kirkpatrick.

The 49ers signed Kirkpatrick after losing starting cornerback Jason Verrett to a torn ACL in the season opener against the Detroit Lions.

Kirkpatrick, the former first-round draft pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, was appearing in his sixth game of the season with the 49ers. He entered Sunday's game with four total tackles and recorded three more tackles through three quarters against the Cardinals.

But Kirkpatrick getting crushed by Benjamin likely is all anyone will remember from his performance on Sunday.
