The 49ers will activate wide receiver Deebo Samuel off the non-football injury list on Saturday, making him eligible to play in the team's season opener next week.
Samuel underwent surgery to repair a fractured foot after sustaining the injury in June during a player-organized workout outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
The 49ers placed Samuel on the NFI list at the opening of camp. He now will have a spot on the 53-man roster.
The 49ers remain hopeful he will be able to play on Sunday, Sept. 13, when the 49ers open the regular season against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium.
