49ers' Al-Shaair ruled out vs. Falcons with elbow injury

The 49ers will be down two important linebackers Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons at Levi's Stadium. Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair joins Dre Greenlaw as key defensive players who have been ruled inactive for a game with big playoff implications.

Al-Shaair injured his elbow in last Sunday's win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Before his injury, he racked up 11 tackles, including three for loss. He also had one sack and one pass defensed in the win.

On the season, the third-year pro has totaled 96 tackles -- nine for loss -- along with 1.5 sacks, five passes defensed, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

The 49ers also will be without starting running back Elijah Mitchell, defensive lineman Maurice Hurst and offensive lineman Colton McKivitz.
