Heading into the 2020 season, Fred Warner was ranked as the No. 11 linebacker in the NFL by Pro Football Focus.
The recognition continues as PFF gave Warner a 83.6 grade after Week 7 -- the second-highest rating among linebackers.

It’s well-deserved.
The guy can do everything and has created a name for himself as one of the main guys on the 49ers’ defense. NBC Sports Bay Area's Takeo Spikes notices the small details that have proven big for Warner.
"Number one is awareness,” Spikes said earlier this week. “His pre-snap awareness is second to none. You see him out there directing traffic as if he's the airport traffic controller guy.”
That was part of how he intercepted three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Cam Newton in the 49ers’ 33-6 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Warner has a natural ability with running lane instincts and an appreciation of how blocking patterns occur. And he’s really fast, too.
