49ers' George Kittle, Richard Sherman take home 2019 PFWA honors

Another day means more honors for George Kittle and Richard Sherman.

The 49ers tight already was named as first-team All-Pro, was named to the Pro Bowl and was graded as the best tight end ever by Pro Football Focus. Likewise, for Sherman, he was named to second-team All-Pro and got a nice bonus because of it. The veteran cornerback also was named as PFF's top corner of the decade.

That makes Monday's news no surprise when it was announced that Kittle had been selected to the PFWA's 2019 All-NFL and All-NFC teams, while Sherman also was named to the All-NFC team.

Sherman once again was beaten out for top honors by New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore and Buffalo Bills star Tre'Davious White.

The 49ers have had an incredible season, and it continued Saturday when they steamrolled the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship Game. The Green Bay Packers will be there waiting for them after Aaron Rodgers and Co. outlasted the Seattle Seahawks 28-23 at Lambeau Field.

Kittle and Sherman keep racking up the honors, but the real prize will be secure if the 49ers can finish the job and win the franchise's sixth Super Bowl title.
