49ers inactives: Moseley ruled out with hamstring injury

The 49ers will be down to their third nickel back on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills.

K'Waun Williams is out with an ankle sprain. His replacement, Jamar Taylor, sustained a torn ACL last week against the Los Angeles.

Just 90 minutes before kickoff, the 49ers announced cornerback Emmanuel Moseley as one of the team's four inactive players. Moseley only saw limited practice time this week due to a hamstring injury.

The injuries leave the 49ers with a bit of dilemma -- how to defend Bills slot receiver Cole Beasley, who has 57 receptions for 667 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Jason Verrett and Richard Sherman will start at the cornerback positions. Dontae Johnson, Tarvarius Moore, Jimmie Ward and Verrett are options to play nickel back.

The 49ers also deactivated slot receiver and return man Trent Taylor, who has lost playing time on offense and the return duties to fellow wideout Richie James.

Taylor has just 10 receptions for 86 yards this season. He leads the 49ers with a 12.3 yard average on eight punt returns.

James has come on strong as a receiver. He has 13 receptions for 239 yards. Almost all of his production came in Week 9 with a nine-catch, 184-yard performance against the Green Bay Packers.

James was the 49ers' top returner last season. This year, he has three punt returns for 20 yards and three kickoff returns for 60 yards.
