There were no real surprises among the 49ers' inactive players for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but the list reinforced who will return to the lineup.
Kittle sustained a knee sprain against the Arizona Cardinals three weeks ago, and he didn't play during the 49ers' road games against the New York Jets and New York Giants in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively. The tight end practiced on a limited basis ahead of the Giants game, and he was a full participant this week prior to the 49ers appearing on "Sunday Night Football."
Samuel was the 49ers' best wide receiver as a rookie last season, compiling 802 receiving yards on 57 receptions and catching three touchdowns. He also rushed 14 times for 159 yards and three TDs in 2019, and his return gives coach Kyle Shanahan additional versatility.
The Eagles, meanwhile, officially will be without wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey, who was a limited participant in Friday's practice, but he has not yet played in a game this season.
With Jeffrey, Desean Jackson and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside all out, Philadelphia has just four healthy receivers on the active roster Sunday.
