Deebo returns to practice, on pace to play vs. Washington

Share

After sitting out practice Wednesday due to a bruised foot, wide receiver Deebo Samuel returned to limited practice on Thursday and appears on pace to play on Sunday when the 49ers return to action against Washington.

The 49ers continue to have some uncertainty along their defensive line and within the secondary.

Nose tackle D.J. Jones (ankle) did not practice on Thursday due to an ankle injury. And defensive tackle Kevin Givens left the team in Glendale, Arizona, to be on hand for the birth of his daughter, The Athletic reported.

Givens will not be available to play Sunday. Any player who leaves the team to travel must clear COVID-19 protocols -- a six-day process -- to be allowed to return to practice and play.
