49ers' Jerry Rice-narrated hype video will fire up fans for Vikings game

After a week to sit back, kick their feet up and watch other teams batter each other, it's time for the 49ers to get back to business.

Wild Card Weekend saw three teams go on the road and land knockout blows, with the No. 4-seeded Houston Texans being the only home team to survive the first round of the NFL playoffs. The 49ers likely expected their divisional-round game to feature a third battle with the Seattle Seahawks, but that will have to wait ... if it comes at all.

The No. 6-seeded Minnesota Vikings went into New Orleans and knocked off the No. 3 Saints, setting up a matchup with the 49ers on Saturday at Levi's Stadium and removing one of the biggest roadblocks to San Francisco's Super Bowl road.

With Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook and the Vikings headed to the Bay this weekend, the 49ers released a playoff hype video, narrated by Jerry Rice, to get The Faithful ready to crank it up to 11 on Saturday.

The road less traveled couldn't have been made possible without the 49ers' thrilling, last-second Week 14 win over the Saints in New Orleans. The win gave the 49ers the head-to-head tie-breaker over the 13-3 Saints, and sent New Orleans into the wild-card game as the No. 3 seed. This weekend would look a lot different if George Kittle didn't put the entire team on his back down in the Big Easy.

While 49ers fans might be happy they won't have to see Drew Brees and the Saints again, the Vikings won't be a pushover by any means.

The 49ers' defense, which is expected to have Dee Ford and Jaquiski Tartt back -- and possibly Kwon Alexander -- will need to find a way to bottle up Cook and make Cousins beat them. If the Vikings can run the ball successfully and control the clock, it gives them a much better shot of reliving their 1988 upset of the Niners and marching one step closer to the Super Bowl.

It's time for Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. to, as Rice put it, be legendary.
