Kicker Robbie Gould, who is scheduled for unrestricted free agency this offseason, picked up another bargaining chip on Thursday.

Gould, 36, was named the winner of the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month, the league announced. Gould went 11-for-11 on his field-goal attempts in the 49ers’ five games in December.

Gould, a 14-year NFL veteran, finished the season with a career-best in accuracy, making 33 of his 34 field-goal attempts (97.1 percent). He ranks No. 2 all-time in field-goal accuracy at 87.745 percent, behind only Baltimore’s Justin Tucker (90.114 percent).

Gould was also named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December 2017. In his two years with the 49ers, he was named Special Teams Player of the Week three times, including in Week 15 for making four field goals in a 26-23 overtime victory over the Seattle Seahawks.
