In order to become the No. 1 seed in the NFL, a team can’t have more than one or two weaknesses along its roster.
The 49ers didn’t show many during their impressive run to finishing the season atop the NFC, steamrolling to a 13-3 record, with all three losses coming down to one or two critical plays.
You’d especially be hard-pressed to find a single weakness that showed itself during San Francisco’s commanding 27-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round, as the 49ers’ defense took absolute control and the offense ran the ball down Minnesota’s throat.
Outside of Jimmy Garoppolo not being among the elite tier of NFL quarterbacks, the team doesn’t have a clear-cut weakness, as far as Fox Sports One’s Nick Wright is concerned.
"The 49ers don't have a clearcut weakness right now, other than can you rattle Jimmy G and make him make some mistakes. He made some mistakes in this game and they still rolled." — @getnickwright pic.twitter.com/SBGxgExcS2— First Things First (@FTFonFS1) January 13, 2020
While Wright isn’t the biggest fan of Jimmy G, he had high praise for Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan, saying the 49ers "might have the best coach" of the four teams remaining in the NFL playoffs.
The sportsbooks around the country seem to agree with Wright, as they’ve made San Francisco heavy favorites for Sunday’s NFC title game at Levi’s Stadium against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
