49ers' Marquise Goodwin trade could happen at start of 2020 NFL Draft

It's not a matter of if the 49ers trade Marquise Goodwin, but when. The time could be as soon as Thursday during the 2020 NFL Draft.

"We're trying to find Marquise a good home," Lynch told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Thursday. "That is something that can happen today." Lynch also said the 49ers were close to trading Goodwin earlier this week.

NBC Sports Bay Area's 49ers insider Matt Maiocco provided more information on a possible Goodwin trade, too.

Lynch admitted to reporters on Monday that San Francisco is shopping Goodwin. This has seemed inevitable for quite some time now, and Goodwin even asked 49ers fans in March if the team should trade him.

Goodwin, 29, is signed through the 2021 season after inking a three-year, $20 million contract extension before the 2018 season. The veteran wide receiver played nine games last season before going on injured reserve after being inactive for several games due to knee and foot issues.

He caught 12 passes for 186 yards in the 2019 campaign.

While the 49ers could be wheeling and dealing draft picks, one of their receivers looks to be on the move as well.
