49ers, Raiders picked to be among most improved teams by NFL analyst

The 2018 NFL season was one every Bay Area fan would like to forget. Both the 49ers and Raiders ended the season with 4-12 records, as they each secured a top-five pick in the NFL draft.

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah shared his predictions for the most improved organizations in 2019 and both the 49ers and Raiders made the cut.

The 49ers top Jeremiah's board with the promise of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo being healthy for training camp and an offseason that saw them shore up an already strong defensive line group, signing Dee Ford to a long-term deal and drafting former Ohio State defensive end Nick Bosa No. 2 overall in April's draft.

The Raiders, meanwhile, sit third in Jeremiah's rankings after making some of their own splashy moves over the NFL offseason. Oakland acquired All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown from the Steelers and also signed Vontaze Burfict, who was a Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro with the Bengals in 2013.

It's hard to go anywhere but up for the Bay Area's NFL teams in 2019, but if Jeremiah's picks are accurate, there could be a lot more winning football coming to Northern California in the coming months.

49ers activate Garrett Celek, George Kittle likely out vs. Seahawks

SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers on Monday activated veteran tight end Garrett Celek from the physically unable to perform list in order to be available just hours later to face the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium.

The 49ers released cornerback Dontae Johnson to make room for Celek on the 53-man roster.

The 49ers do not expect Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle to be available due to knee and ankle issues. Kittle has not practiced since sustaining his injuries on Oct. 31 against Arizona. The 49ers listed Kittle as doubtful for Monday's game.

Celek, 31, underwent back surgery in June and was on the team's physically unable to perform list through the first nine weeks of the season. He began practice last week. Celek joins Ross Dwelley and Levine Toilolo as the team's healthy tight ends for Monday's game.

Kittle leads the 49ers with 46 receptions for 541 yards and two touchdowns.

Bay Area rapper E-40 drops 49ers-themed song before game vs. Seahawks

You haven't made it until E-40 composes a song for you. Those are the unwritten rules.

The Bay Area native rapper recently released a song dedicated to the undefeated 49ers' streak titled "Niner Gang," and it's very catchy.

To start things off, you hear "Bang bang Niner gang," a few times over, then the love for the team shines through.

Not only does the song highlight the history of the 49ers, but gives major props to the "the liveliest fans in the NFL:"

"I tried to told 'em we back & we never left and we got a heart, Levi's Stadium starting to feel like Candlestick Park ... "

The 49ers' Instagram account commented along with NFL veteran running back Reggie Bush -- both in favor of it.
