They say the holiday season is all about giving.

49ers cornerback Richard Sherman already is in the spirit, as he donated over $7,000 to Cabrillo Middle School in Santa Clara to cover the school’s outstanding cafeteria debt.

“The last thing any child should have to worry about is being able to afford eating breakfast and lunch at school; we aim to do our part in eliminating that obstacle,” said a letter to the school from Sherman’s foundation, Blanket Coverage - The Richard Sherman Family Foundation.

Sherman visited the school on Saturday and met with principal Stan Garber to personally deliver the donation.

Sherman already has been named the NFLPA's Community MVP for his charitable deeds throughout the season, as he continues to use his wealth to back to the community.
