49ers' Gould dealing with groin injury; Wishnowsky FG kicker

SANTA CLARA -- Robbie Gould is dealing with a groin injury and is questionable to return to the 49ers' game vs. the Seahawks on Sunday at Levi's Stadium. It appears likely Gould suffered the injury during pregame warmups.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan was seen having a long talk with Gould during warmups, and then also with Mitch Wishnowsky prior to the team heading into to the locker room before the game.

Wishnowsky, the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month, was then seen attempting a field goal after players returned to the field prior to the game.

After the 49ers' first drive resulted in a touchdown, the punter from down under trotted out for a successful point after attempt.

Filling in all game for Gould could be challenge for Wishnowsky. The punter had no point after attempts or field goal attempts through three seasons at Utah, but he remans the team's only chance to fill in for the 17-year veteran.

If Gould is unable to play, Shanahan could be forced to go for it on fourth downs or punt in what would be long field goal attempts. If the offense can get into a closer range, expect to see Wishnowsky called upon for field goal duties.

Gould has made 403 of his 466 career attempts which ranks him 11th in all time field goals made. Wishnowsky has yet to make an attempt but now with a PAT under his belt, could end the game with his own stats.
