SANTA CLARA — The 49ers head towards their match up in Seattle with a sizable list of injuries. While this is relatively normal for a Wednesday, the depth of the secondary is looking thin.

Coach Kyle Shanahan has already ruled defensive back D.J. Reed out for the week with a heel injury he sustained in the team’s 27-9 loss to the Buccaneers. The team also lost defensive back Jimmie Ward for the season with a broken forearm.

Jaquiski Tartt has been battling the same shoulder injury most of the season but will likely play in Seattle as he did in Tampa. He got a little healthier after the bye week and played 65 of the 72 defensive snaps facing the Buccaneers.

The 49ers claimed safety Godwin Igwebuike from the Buccaneers earlier this week but rookie Marcell Harris could be the one who sees more playing time in Seattle.

Wide receiver Pierre Garçon is slowly making his way back to practicing with the team after missing the last three out of four games with a knee injury. The status of Marquise Goodwin is still uncertain as well. As a result, Dante Pettis will likely reprise his expanded role on the field.
