Twelve months removed from playing in Super Bowl LIV, the 49ers were at home watching TV on Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers decided the NFL’s next champion.
Raheem Mostert summed up his thoughts less than an hour before kickoff, with a tweet expressing his desire to return to football’s biggest stage. He wasn’t alone in his thoughts about last year’s Super Bowl.
Other members of the 49ers shared their thoughts while watching Tom Brady and the Bucs jump out to an early lead. Perhaps it was no surprise that George Kittle was the most vocal player on the team throughout the afternoon.
He cheered on fellow University of Iowa product Ben Niemann after he made an early tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kittle likes to show love for his fellow NFL tight ends, so he lit up when Gronkowski contributed two early touchdowns for the Bucs.
