Coronavirus: Fanatics auction supporting relief effort has Bay Area ties

The coronavirus pandemic has caused the sports world to take a pause in order to ensure social distancing and public safety. But one silver lining is the amount of effort those involved have given back.

Fanatics introduced the All-In Challenge, with money raised to benefit an array of organizations including Meals on Wheels, Feeding America and World Central Kitchen to provide children, elderly and front line heroes the food they need. There is also a portion of the challenge called “All In Auctions,” with a section dedicated to sports.

Those are able to place bids on anything you could imagine a fan experience to be. There are plenty of Bay Area ties as well.

You could wine and dine with 49ers legend Joe Montana and his wife, Jennifer, at their villa along with Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott, and his wife Karen.

That’s dinner for six in the middle of wine country at Montana’s estate with exclusive wines from the Montana wine cellar. And you will not be leaving empty-handed, as Montana said in the promotional video. Those who win the bid will have memorabilia you’ll be able to go home with … and more wine.

There also is a bid for an opportunity for two fans to travel with the 49ers for an away trip. Winners will be able to stay at the team hotel, have dinner with them the night before the game, and some pre-game activities. Not enough? They're even throwing in a post-game locker room experience -- with, hopefully, a winning outcome.

Want the ultimate Jerry Rice experience? Sure you do.

Winners of this bid could hang out with the Hall of Fame wide receiver with a virtual brunch via Zoom to talk some football, and would own his signed 1988 game-winning ball from a win against the New York Giants. He even said he’ll pass on some secrets to you about the game

Raiders fans will be taken care of as well, should you win this bid.

Bay Area native and Raiders fan himself CC Sabathia would love to host you and two friends to the new Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium for a Raiders game. Before that, you’ll be able to eat at Carbone, the veteran pitcher's favorite restaurant, and have some sideline passes as well

For the Warriors fan in your life, co-executive chairman Peter Guber is auctioning off his 2015 NBA Championship ring that started the team’s dynasty

"I know how much need there is in this country," he said.
