What oddsmakers believe 49ers' chances are of Watson trade

As the turmoil between the Houston Texans and Deshaun Watson continues to unravel, rumors have started swirling regarding the 25-year-old quarterback coming to San Francisco.

True, they're only rumors, but Watson's displeasure with the organization can hardly be refuted. Speculation surrounding a possible Watson trade is in full-force, as are the odds for each NFL team to land him

The 49ers are tied with the Washington Football Team at +1000 odds of being the next team Watson will take a snap for, according to odds provided by our partner, PointsBet (Colorado). That means, by placing a $100 bet, you'd win $1,000 if San Francisco was able to pull off the feat for the three-time Pro Bowler.

The Texans, of course, lead the pack with -125 odds ($125 bet wins you $100).

Watson remaining with Houston is still the most likely outcome, but the saga between him and the organization took a turn for the worse last week when the Texans announced the hiring of Nick Caserio as their new general manager. The hiring reportedly didn't fare well with Watson (to say the least), as the former Clemson product reportedly has considered asking for a trade.

Although both coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have stated they believe Jimmy Garappolo will be the 49ers' starting quarterback next season, you can't turn down an opportunity like Watson if it comes to fruition. -- especially when resurfaced tweets showcased his love of the 49ers in the Jim Harbaugh era.

Watson led the NFL with 4,823 passing yards, along with his yards per attempt (8.9) and yards per completion (12.6). He threw 33 touchdowns to go with just seven interceptions, posting a 70.2 percent completion rate.

The result? A dismal 4-12 season, thanks to the poor supporting cast the Texans have put around him.

Should the 49ers pull of a trade, they'll have to beat out multiple other organizations, for obvious reasons. Behind the Texans, PointsBet Colorado currently has the Miami Dolphins +300, the New England Patriots +400 and the New York Jets +450 as the frontrunners. The Chicago Bears (+550) and the Indianapolis Colts (+600) also have higher odds than the 49ers.
