Former 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin will not be representing Team USA in the Olympics for a second time. The two-sport star failed to qualify for the finals in the long jump at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Friday, thereby ending his chances of competing in the upcoming Tokyo Games.

Goodwin, who now plays for the Chicago Bears, finished 19th out of 24 participants with a best jump of 24-feet-10. Only the top 12 finishers advanced to the finals.

Goodwin previously competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where he qualified for the finals with a jump of 26-foot-7. He ultimately finished in 10th place.

Had Goodwin qualified for Tokyo, he would have been forced to miss part of Bears training camp. Now he can fully focus on making Chicago's 53-man roster.
