Where 49ers will pick in 2021 NFL Draft after 6-10 season

Share

The 49ers' disappointing 2020 season ended Sunday with a 26-23 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, as San Francisco dropped to 6-10. Though the 49ers already were eliminated from playoff contention, the Week 17 results had a significant impact on their outlook.

Entering Week 17, the 49ers sat at No. 15 in the 2021 first-round draft order. With the postseason already ruled out, Sunday arguably worked out very well for San Francisco. Thanks to wins by the Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers -- combined with their own loss to Seattle -- the 49ers wound up with the 12th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
