Photographers at Levi's Stadium understandably wanted to document 49ers tight end George Kittle leaving the field after sustaining an apparent leg injury in the first half against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Understandably to everyone but Kittle, apparently.
Kittle might not find his status as the NFL's highest-paid tight end and the league's seventh-best player (as voted by his peers) particularly captivating, but few others would not. He's an indispensable part of the 49ers' (already short-handed) offense, and any potential absence would be worth immediate documentation.
Perhaps Kittle was just facetiously indicating he would be OK. He returned to the 49ers' sideline at the start of the second half, and also was on the field on their first offensive play of the third quarter.
Provided he doesn't miss any additional time, Kittle's injury scare will be forgotten fairly quickly. You can't say the same about his quip in its aftermath, at least.
