Inactives: Ponder remains 49ers' No. 2 QB

LOS ANGELES – Christian Ponder will remain as the 49ers’ No. 2 quarterback on Sunday when the 49ers play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Colin Kaepernick will make his 10th consecutive start of the season after replacing Blaine Gabbert. The 49ers are 0-9 in Kaepernick previous nine starts this season.

Ponder was inactive for the 49ers’ first 12 games of the season before getting promoted over Gabbert last week against the Atlanta Falcons. Ponder did not see action in the 49ers’ 41-13 loss. He has not attempted a pass in an NFL game since the 2014 season.

Outside linebacker Tank Carradine, a second-round draft pick in 2013, was a healthy scratch. Carradine has no sacks in 13 games in which he has appeared this season.

Within the past week, the 49ers placed wide receivers Torrey Smith and Quinton Patton, tight end Blake Bell, cornerback Jimmie Ward and linebacker Nick Bellore on injured reserve.

The 49ers added wide receiver DeAndre Smelter, tight end Jim Dray, cornerback Prince Charles Iworah and linebackers Carl Bradford and Wynton McManis to the team’s 53-man roster.
