Look familiar? Mostert reacts to 49ers' play call on first TD

Raheem Mostert was ruled out of the 49ers' Week 16 match up against the Arizona Cardinals Saturday, but that didn't stopped him from analyzing his team's performance.

Quarterback C.J. Beathard shook off any nerves he might have had in making his first start of the season, capping off a seven-play, 60-yard drive with a touchdown pass to running back Jeff Wilson in the first quarter.

Mostert took to Twitter to show both his excitement -- and his play recognition.

Mostert is referring to the play call that led to a monster 76-yard touchdown for the 28-year-old running back in Week 1, which also doubled as San Francisco's first touchdown of the season. Jimmy Garoppolo connected with Mostert on first-and-10 and that was all it took for the former collegiate track and field star to turn on the speed and put up six.

Of course, the play call rings even more similar when reminded who the 49ers faced off to open the season. They took on ... none other than the Cardinals.

San Francisco has been decimated by injury all year long, and Mostert is no exception. The injury bug has plagued Mostert for the majority of the year. The team's top running back missed some time earlier in the season with knee and ankle injuries, and was ultimately placed on the Injured Reserve in late October with a high-ankle sprain. Mostert returned to the team in late November, but suffered a second high-ankle sprain in Week 15 against the Dallas Cowboys -- this one a season-ending injury.

Wilson's TD put the 49ers up 6-3 and a Robbie Gould extra-point made it 7-3. The Cardinals added a field goal with 35 seconds left in the first half to make it a 7-6 contest heading into halftime.
