Staley gives perfect one-word reaction to 49ers' loss

Joe Staley spent 13 seasons as the 49ers' left tackle and was one of the few constants in a turbulent decade for the organization.

The 36-year-old retired from the NFL in April, and got his first chance since 2006 to watch the 49ers open up the season from his couch instead of the sidelines. Unfortunately for Staley and 49ers fans worldwide, San Francisco came up short against the Arizona Cardinals in a 24-20 loss from Levi's Stadium.

Following Sunday's loss, Staley shared a simple, one-word tweet that about sums up how the Faithful feel starting the season 0-1.

After a 13-3 season and a run to Super Bowl LIV last season, expectations for the 2020 49ers were sky-high going into Week 1.

Although Staley's replacement at left tackle Trent Williams looks like an incredible addition, the 49ers open up the season with a home loss.

Not exactly the way Staley and the rest of the 49ers Faithful imagined the season would start.
