The Seattle Seahawks are swooping in on a former 49ers cornerback yet again.

Josina Anderson reported Tuesday, citing a source, the Seahawks have agreed to a one-year contract with cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon.

The former third-round pick appeared in 11 games last season for the 49ers. He recorded one interception and four passes defensed. Witherspoon ends his four-year career as a 49er with 117 tackles, four interceptions and 24 passes defensed.

Witherspoon fell out of favor with coach Kyle Shanahan the past few seasons. He showed glimpses of the skill set that always excited the 49ers but couldn't stay consistent and also dealt with a handful of injuries. Witherspoon did have an 80.2 Pro Football Focus grade last season.

The 25-year-old played in both the 49ers' games against the Seahawks last season. He didn't play any defensive snaps the first game, and played every defensive snap in the season finale. Witherspoon had one tackle and pass defensed against the Seahawks in Week 17 but also allowed one touchdown in a three-point loss.
