Well, there was no statement to be made by the 49ers in Week 7. They were sloppy, undisciplined, poorly coached and gave us an L in the process.

That was the cherry on top of a bad week spent picking the wrong side of mostly big spreads. The syndicate suffered its first losing week of the campaign, going 6-7 ATS. However, we did once again hit the upset special of the week -- shoutout Joe Burrow -- to move the USOW to 6-2 on the year.

After having six teams on the bye last week, only the Raiders and Baltimore Ravens are off this week.

We've got a marquee Thursday night game that has lost some of its luster, a fun showdown in Los Angeles and the 49ers go to the Windy City in search of good vibes against a crumbling Bears team.

Let's get to the picks.

Record: 60-47 ATS (71-36 SU)

Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals

Line: Cardinals -6.5

This game lost some of its luster with Davante Adams and Allen Lazard going on the COVID-19 list. Aaron Rodgers might have to rely on Randall Cobb, Amari Rodgers, Equanimeous St. Brown and tight end Robert Tonyan to be his passing threats. The Cardinals will be without J.J. Watt, but I’ll give the edge to Kyler and Co. by a touchdown. Rodgers won’t have the weapons to spring this upset.

Pick: Cardinals 28, Packers 20

Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts

Line: Colts -1

Tennessee won by nine the first time these two teams met back in Week 3, and can grab the AFC South by the horns with a win Sunday in Indy. But the Colts are playing better, and the Titans are due for a letdown after wins over the Bills and Chiefs.

Pick: Colts 28, Titans 24

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns

Line: Browns -3.5

Baker Mayfield is unlikely to play but it sounds like Nick Chubb will return for a key AFC South bout. Case Keenum was solid in a short notice start vs. the Denver Broncos and I think he and the running game are good enough to get it done against an unimpressive Steelers team.

Pick: Browns 23, Steelers 17

Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions

Line: Eagles -3

Whatever size tank Dan Campbell and the Lions have, it’s empty after their loss to the Rams in Los Angeles. Detroit converted two fake punts and recovered an onside kick and still couldn’t pull off the upset. The Eagles’ offense is bad outside of garbage time, but Jalen Hurts should be able to have a decent day through the air. The Lions are running on fumes.

Pick: Eagles 27, Lions 20

Los Angeles Rams at Houston Texans

Pick: Rams -14.5

Man, getting the Lions and Texans in back-to-back weeks is a nice Halloween gift for the Rams. The Texans are horrible on the road and slightly less awful at home. Let’s be honest, they aren’t competitive. Rams in a rout.

Pick: Rams 38, Texans 10

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets

Line: Bengals -10.5

This could have been a good spot for the Jets if they still had Zach Wilson. But with either Mike White or the elite Joe Flacco under center, the Jets won’t stand a chance. Bengals get off to a sleepy start but kick it into gear and pull away in the second half.

Pick: Bengals 31, Jets 16

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

Line: Falcons -3

Sam Darnold is seeing ghosts again and the Panthers are taking on water after four straight losses. Atlanta has found something on offense *cough* throw it to Kyle Pitts *cough* That should be enough to get the ATL back above .500.

Pick: Falcons 24, Panthers 16

Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills

Line: Bills -14

Six straight losses and no reprieve in sight for the Fighting Fins. Fresh off a bye week, the Bills pummel Tua and Co. No need to watch this one, just check your fantasy scores if you have Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.

Pick: Bills 34, Dolphins 17

New England Patriots at Los Angeles Chargers

Line: Chargers -5.5

The Chargers’ run defense is an afront to mankind. The Patriots have been running the ball well with Damien Harris and Mac Jones is showing better command of the offense. But the Patriots’ secondary has holes Justin Herbert should be able to exploit. Last year, the Patriots embarrassed the Chargers and got Anthony Lynn fired. The Bolts get payback, but it’s close.

Pick: Chargers 27, Patriots 24

Jacksonville Jaguars at Seattle Seahawks

Line: Seahawks -3

Someone should tell Pete Carroll that he has DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett on his team and to GET THEM THE BALL. A visit from the Fighting Urban Meyers is just what the doctor ordered for the free-falling Seahawks. Metcalf scores two touchdowns and the bleeding stops momentarily in the PNW.

Pick: Seahawks 23, Jags 17

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints

Line:  Bucs -5.5

Jameis Winston Revenge Game!!

This is all about Tom Brady and the Bucs’ offense against the Saints’ stout defense. Rob Gronkowski is expected to return, but it sounds like Antonio Brown will miss his second straight game. Jameis does enough to cover but can’t get the W.

Pick: Bucs 27, Saints 23

Washington Football Team at Denver Broncos

Line: Broncos -3

What we have here is two bad football teams, folks. The Broncos can’t move the football and now their defense is banged up. So, why are they favored? No idea! Give me the Football Team. Sorry about the hot seat, Vic.

Pick: WFT 23, Broncos 20 (UPSET PICK OF THE WEEK)

Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings

Line: Cowboys -1

The Vikings have been playing some football after their 0-2 start, but Kirk Cousins is prone to melting under the bright primetime lights. As long as Dak Prescott’s calf is OK, I like the Cowboys.

Pick: Cowboys 30, Vikings 24

New York Giants at Kansas City Chiefs

Line: Chiefs -9.5

If you need a get-right game, the Giants are an ideal team to face. Jason Garrett dialed up some good stuff against the Panthers, but that was the first time we’ve seen a creative offensive thought wonder out of his Princeton mind. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense have been sloppy, but they straighten things out on Monday night. If not now, then when?

Pick: Chiefs 34, Giants 20

49ers at Chicago Bears

Line: 49ers -3.5

Everyone just watched the Bears get embarrassed by the Bucs while the 49ers looked borderline inept in the rain at Levi’s Stadium. The 49ers looked poorly coached and undisciplined and have for weeks. The Bears have turnstiles at both offensive tackle spots and might be without Khalil Mack. I’m going to hold my nose and take the Bears to cover. I won’t be surprised if they win outright.

Pick: 49ers 23, Bears 20
