The 49ers are scheduled to visit Wednesday with Ohio State cornerback Marshon Lattimore, a source confirmed to NBC Sports Bay Area.

Lattimore (6 foot, 193 pounds) is a candidate to be chosen with the No. 2 overall pick after just one season as a starter.

Limited by hamstring injuries in his first two years out of high school, Lattimore did not have a significant role in the Ohio State defense until last season. He finished the season with 41 tackles, four interceptions and was named first-team All-Big Ten. Lattimore ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds at the NFL scouting combine.

Lattimore’s visit to the 49ers was first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. According to the report, Lattimore also has visits scheduled with the four teams with top-five picks in the draft – Cleveland, Chicago, Jacksonville and Tennessee.
