Pete Carroll: Seahawks looking at Kaepernick, Griffin for backup QB

Russell Wilson is the Seahawks' starting quarterback.

Will Colin Kaepernick be his backup in 2017?

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll was asked if players like Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III are on the Seahawks' radar.

"We're looking at everybody. We really are," Carroll said on ESPN's Brock and Salt show. "We've been tracking everything that's going on, and we've got cap and roster issues and stuff like that that we're still trying to manage properly.

"But quite frankly, yes, we are looking at all those guys."

Griffin entered the league as the No. 2 overall pick in 2012, and was named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Last year, he started five games for the Browns.

Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the 49ers and is currently a free agent.
