"Great to spend time with Mike Singletary while going to Texas," Trump's caption reads. "He’s one of the greatest football players ever — A strong man and a really good person. Great being with you Mike!"
The White House confirmed to the Chicago Tribune that Singletary traveled with the presidential party aboard Air Force One to Texas. The 61-year-old also joined Trump in June for a roundtable discussion on race from Gateway Church in Dallas, KWTX reported.
Singletary was the head coach in San Francisco from 2008-10, finishing with an 18-20 record for the 49ers. Most recently, he had been the head coach for a high school in Texas, Trinity Christian Academy in Addison. Singletary left the program in December to pursue other opportunities.
