Henry Ruggs III faces DUI charges following a fatal accident in Las Vegas Tuesday morning.

Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III will be charged with DUI resulting in death and reckless driving following a fatal car accident that killed one victim in Las Vegas early Tuesday morning, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said.

The LVMPD said that Ruggs III, 22, remained on the scene after the accident and showed signs of impairment.

With the news, the Raiders announced late Tuesday night that they have released Ruggs.

Vegas police confirmed Ruggs was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon and has been booked at the Clark County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning at the Las Vegas Justice Court.

The department confirmed the accident resulted in the death of a single victim, who is reportedly a 23-year-old female but will remain unidentified at this time. The victim was driving a Toyota Rav4 which Ruggs' Chevrolet Corvette rear-ended. Rugg's girlfriend was also seriously injured in the accident.

First responders at the scene reported the Toyota was in flames.

The Raiders posted a statement on Twitter with similar sentiments toward the victim and the victim's family. The statement that the team was gathering information would not comment further on Ruggs' status.

This is a developing story that will be updated.
