Report: Kirk Cousins won't negotiate long-term deal with Bruce Allen

Kirk Cousins signed his exclusive franchise tag on Friday, but don't expect him to engage in conversations about a long-term deal in Washington.

As long as Bruce Allen is the team president, the quarterback will not negotiate, according to CSN Mid-Atlantic's Chick Hernandez.

Allen was hired as Washington's GM in December 2009, named President in May 2014 and hired Scot McCloughan as the team's GM in January 2015.

On Thursday, Washington fired McCloughan.

Cousins, who will make nearly $24 million in 2017, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next March.

He reportedly told someone close to him that he is "going to be a 49er" in 2017 or 2018.
