UPDATE (Wednesday, March 2 at 1:30pm) -- The 49ers re-signed Draughn to a one-year deal, the team announced.

“Shaun did a heck of a job for us last year despite joining the team in the middle of the season,” 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said. “He certainly earned the respect of everyone in our organization for the way he handled himself, both on and off the field, and we are excited to have him back.”

Shaun Draughn will play for Chip Kelly in 2016.

The 49ers re-signed the running back to a one-year deal, a source confirmed to CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco.

Draughn appeared in six games for the 49ers last season.

He was the 49ers' second-leading rusher behind Carlos Hyde last season with 263 yards and one rushing touchdown on 76 carries. Draughn also ranked fifth on the team with 25 pass receptions for 175 yards.
