The 49ers are scheduled to visit Wednesday in Santa Clara with Florida State dual-threat running back Dalvin Cook, a league source told NBC Sports Bay Area.

Cook rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his three college seasons. Cook rushed for 1,691 and 19 touchdowns as a sophomore. He followed that up with 1,765 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns as a junior before declaring for the draft.

Cook was also a highly productive pass-catcher out of the backfield. He had 33 receptions for 488 yards in his final college season.

At the NFL scouting combine, Cook measured 5 foot 10 3/8, 210 pounds. His official time in the 40-yard dash was 4.49 seconds.

Leonard Fournette of LSU is widely regarded as the top running back available in the upcoming draft. Cooks and Christian McCaffrey of Stanford are also considered legitimate first-round selections.
