The 49ers will meet with two special teams prospects on Friday, sources told NBC Sports Bay Area.
Team representatives will meet with long snapper Chris Wilkerson and punter Jack Fox on April 5, at a facility in Houston.
Wilkerson started all four years at Division I Stephen F. Austin State University. He attended Rice University’s Pro Day and performed well enough to be invited to the Houston Texans’ local prospect workout day on April 6.

Fox was a four-year starter at Rice, initially handling kickoffs. He added punting to his responsibilities as a sophomore. In three seasons, he punted 211 times for 9,167 yards, giving him an average of 43.4 yards per attempt.
The two special teams draft prospects will be working out together for several NFL teams.
"It was a blessing to be able to be at Rice for pro day and give me a good opportunity to snap with Jack Fox," Wilkerson told NBC Sports Bay Area. "It’s an awesome feeling to be in a spot to be able to meet with and workout for teams afterwards. It’s one of those behind the scenes things you don’t see much of so it’s really cool to be living that part of it now."
Former 49ers punter Bradley Pinion attempted 334 punts in his four-year run with the 49ers averaging 43.7 yards per attempt. He signed a four-year $11 million agreement with the Buccaneers in March.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers currently have two long snappers on the roster, Colin Holba and Kyle Nelson. Holba was originally drafted by the Steelers but was waived prior to the regular season. He spent the 2017 season with the Jaguars before being waived during the 2018 offseason.

Nelson signed a four-year extension with the 49ers during free agency, but no money is guaranteed until three days after reinstatement from his 10-game suspension.
Both Wilkerson and Fox will also meet with the Ravens, Giants, Bengals, Falcons, and Buccaneers.
