SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – April 20, 2020 – NBC Sports Wire to Wire: Warriors vs. Kings, NBC Sports Regional Networks’ latest episode of its behind-the-scenes original program on the NBA, will debut tomorrow Tuesday, April 21st at 10 p.m. on NBC Sports Bay Area and Wednesday, April 22nd at 10 p.m. on NBC Sports California.

 

The one-hour show is an all-access pass to an NBA game day, featuring extensive in-game audio and interviews with players and coaches from the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, surrounding their February 25th matchup at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

 

Covering both on-the-court and off-the-court experiences of an NBA game day, NBC Sports Wire to Wire: Warriors vs. Kings provides an inside perspective through on-court audio and interviews with Warriors players Eric Paschall, Damion Lee, Jordan Poole, and Ky Bowman, coach Steve Kerr, and director of team operations Eric Housen; and Kings players Harrison Barnes and Kent Bazemore, and coach Luke Walton.

 

In the episode, while walking to the arena Warriors' Paschall discusses his personal perspectives on life in the league as a rookie; Bowman is mic’d during the morning shootaround; and the camera follows Housen around the Chase Center as he sets up for the game.

 

During the game, the Kings’ Barnes, Bazemore and coach Walton – as well as the Warriors’ Lee, Poole and coach Kerr – are mic’d up, allowing fans the rare opportunity to hear and feel the passion and competitiveness of an NBA game.

Sharks Pregame Live will Debut New Set on October 5

 

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – October 4, 2019 – NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” will unveil its new state-of-the-art studio tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 5th) at 6:30 p.m. with Sharks Pregame Live.

 

The new studio, located at the network’s headquarters at 360 3rd Street in San Francisco (South of Market), will feature a sleek, modern and open design and utilize dynamic LED technology, a stunning and interactive video floor, and multiple anchor and reporter positions designed for movement and flexibility.

 

The studio features large displays that are seamlessly integrated into the scenic architecture, making every part of the studio an engaging broadcast location. A sleek LED display runs along the length of the room, forming the backdrop for the main anchor area.  The visual center of the space is the dynamic demo area, with a large wall display and an LED floor, and portrait monitors.

NBC Sports Bay Area’s new studio will primarily serve as the main set for Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers pre- and postgame shows, along with news updates, press conferences, breaking news and magazine shows.  Additionally, the studio will occasionally carry NBC Sports California’s signature programming including San Jose Sharks, Sacramento Kings and Oakland A’s pre- and postgame shows.

 

“Our new studios will provide our anchors, analysts and insiders the ability to provide the region’s most comprehensive, informative and entertaining sports coverage across multiple platforms,” said Matt Murphy, Senior Vice President and General Manager of NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California.  “We’ve created a world-class facility that is designed for innovation and the creation of compelling content for local sports fans.  We’re looking forward with great excitement to tomorrow night’s first broadcast from the new studio.”

 

In addition to the main studio, a secondary studio, also located at the San Francisco headquarters, will debut on Wednesday, Oct. 16th at 7:00 p.m. with Sharks Pregame Live, prior to the Sharks-Carolina Hurricanes game.  The modern studio will primarily host NBC Sports California’s pre- and postgame shows, news updates, press conferences and breaking news.

 

NBC Sports Bay Area Studio highlights include:

  • 2,270-square-foot studio
  • 30-foot-wide LED monitor wall in main anchor area
  • Interactive Demo Area with a 16-foot-wide by 9-foot-tall monitor wall, a 15-foot-wide and 8-foot-deep LED floor, and five vertical monitors
  • 120 LED tiles integrated into the set, including 75 in the walls and 45 in the Demo Area floor
  • Large, full-height images in the studio depicting San Francisco’s world-renowned cityscape; plus, the iconic NBC logo incorporated into the set design  

 

The set design is the result of the partnership of NBC Sports and the design group at Jack Morton Worldwide.  Fabrication work was done by blackwalnut.  Lighting Design and installation was done by The Lighting Design Group.  LED technology was provided by Leyard and Planar.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – September 27, 2019 – NBC Sports California today announced its coverage of the Sacramento Kings for the 2019-20 NBA season, which includes 82 regular-season games, along with two preseason games from Mumbai, India; former King and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Mitch Richmond will join the network as an analyst for select pre- and postgame shows; game-day coverage with Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live shows; and Kings and NBA news and analysis, insider reports and video via the MyTeams by NBC Sports mobile app and NBCSportsCalifornia.com.

The 2019-20 Kings regular season on NBC Sports California gets underway on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. when the Kings visit the Phoenix Suns. Calling all the action for Kings games on NBC Sports California will be the announcing team of Grant Napear and Doug Christie, with Kayte Christensen-Hunter handling sideline reporter duties for home games and select away games.  Jerry Reynolds will once again join longtime broadcast partner Napear and provide color commentary for select games this season.

 

In addition to the 82 regular-season games, NBC Sports California will televise two preseason games from the NSCI Dome in Mumbai, India: Friday, Oct. 4 vs. Indiana Pacers at 6:30 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 5 vs. Indiana Pacers at 6:30 a.m.

Kings Pregame Live, Kings Postgame Live – Prior to the game, fans can catch the latest team developments, interviews with players and coaches and game previews on Kings Pregame Live. Immediately following the game, Kings Postgame Live will give viewers an in-depth game breakdown with stats and highlights, locker room interviews, and a preview of the next game.  Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live are hosted by Jim Kozimor.  Mitch Richmond will join Kozmior for select Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live shows, Kings analyst Jerry Reynolds will join Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live shows from Golden 1 Center, and Kayte Christensen-Hunter will join Kozimor in-studio for select shows when the team is on the road. 

 

Additional analysis will be provided by Kings Insider James Ham, Grant Napear, Doug Christie and Kayte Christensen-Hunter.  During home games, the network will broadcast Kings Pregame Live and Kings Postgame Live from its exclusive set at Golden 1 Center. 

 

Richmond, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2014, was originally selected by the Golden State Warriors as the fifth overall pick of the 1988 NBA Draft and won the NBA Rookie of the Year award. In 14 NBA seasons with four teams – Warriors (1988-91), Kings (1991-98), Washington Wizards (1998-2001), and Los Angeles Lakers (2001-02) – he posted averages of 21.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 35.2 minutes played in 976 games and was a six-time NBA All-Star and five-time All-NBA selection.  A two-time Olympian, Richmond won a gold medal with the United States Olympic Basketball Team at the 1996 Summer Games in Atlanta and a bronze medal in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul.  He finished his NBA career with 20,497 points, 3,801 rebounds and 3,398 assists.  In 2003, Richmond’s No. 2 jersey was retired by the Kings, a team Richmond led in scoring for seven straight seasons from 1991-92 to 1997-98, averaging 23.3 points per game, and for which he scored 12,070 points, third highest in franchise history.  Richmond was a coach on the men’s basketball team at St. John’s University from 2015-2019.
