It didn't take the Chicago White Sox long to get on the board in Game 1 of the American League Wild Card Series on Tuesday, as Adam Engel smashed a solo home run off A's left-hander Jesús Luzardo in the first inning.
And it turns out, it was the White Sox's first postseason home run since former A’s outfielder Jermaine Dye made a trip around the bases … a long time ago.

Dye played with the A’s from 2001-04 and left behind an illustrious 14-year career in which he earned two All-Star selections and won the 2005 World Series MVP with the White Sox.
Soon after Engel’s home run, AL MVP hopeful, and RBI machine, Jose Abreu blasted a two-run shot off Luzardo to swell the White Sox's lead to 3-0.

Heading into Tuesday’s game, the Sox were 14-0 against left-handed starters during the regular season.
