A's announce Coliseum will serve as voting site in November

The A's announced Monday that the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum will serve as a voting site for the general election in November.

The Coliseum will provide in-person voting inside the Arena, Will Call voting, curbside voting and drive-thru drop stops. Alameda County voters can cast their ballot at the Coliseum Arena site from Saturday, Oct. 31 through Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

“The Oakland Athletics are committed to doing our part to create a more equitable democracy,” A’s president Dave Kaval said in a statement. “We are extremely proud to partner with the State of California, Alameda County, and the Coliseum Authority (JPA) to provide a safe and easily accessible location for people to vote.”

As an organization, the A's will be observing Election Day as a holiday. They're encouraging their front office to vote, work at the polls and volunteer through other venues as well.

The site will follow CDC and public health guidelines for physical distancing and mask-wearing, the A's said through a statement as well.
