Neuse looks to solidify MLB status after walk-off moment

The Athletics got back in the win column on a walk-off by Sheldon Neuse in the bottom of the 10th inning of Saturday night's 4-3 win over the Seattle Mariners at the Oakland Coliseum.

After kicking off their 10-game homestand with a 10-2 loss on Friday, the A's made sure they were not to drop their second straight to the Mariners.

However, there was some adversity that the group had to deal with during the game. Oakland went down early but did take the lead after a three-run fifth inning.

Then, the A's would surrender their lead late, but rather than letting the game get away, the team went on to win it on a walk-off in the 10th inning by Neuse, who Oakland recently recalled on Wednesday

Neuse could use the walk-off to create positive momentum in his favor and finish the 2022 season on a high note for an A's team looking towards the future after continuing to trade away marquee players.

Furthermore, having another crack at the major leagues, Neuse can parlay it into a job next season, considering that the A's are in the middle of a rebuild. The franchise will need players capable of playing in the major leagues as their prospects continue to develop.

Oakland and Neuse will look to win the series against Seattle on Sunday when the A's hand the ball to JP Sears (4-0, 1.95 ERA). Meanwhile, the Mariners will send out righty Luis Castillo (5-4, 2.73 ERA).
