Brewers vs. A's lineups: Beau Taylor to start behind the plate in finale

The A's look to take the series as they face the Milwaukee Brewers for the third time in a row Thursday. The matinee matchup comes on the day after an interesting trade deadline for the A's, who landed a starter in Tanner Roark upon the Wednesday cutoff time.

Roark will have to wait to make his Green and Gold debut for now. Homer Bailey will get starting honors on the bump for Oakland as he continues to take advantage of pitching at the Coliseum -- a place he's fared rather well since being acquired by the Royals in a trade on July 14.

Since joining the A's he's won two starts. Bailey is 7-11 with a 4.78 ERA in 28 career starts against the Brewers.

Chase Anderson will start for Milwaukee, who boasts a 3.89 ERA with a 5-2 record on the season. And while the 31-year-old has never pitched in Oakland, he has stellar numbers against the A's, going 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in two starts.

Drew Pomeranz, who was acquired by the Brewers ahead of the deadline from the Giants, should add depth to the mix and could come out of the bullpen in the finale.

A's designated hitter Khris Davis remains hitting in the fifth spot after shimmying down to sixth following a bit of a slump, but he looks like he's coming back to his former self, going 5-for-11 with a home run in his last three games.
