Dallas Braden wasn't going to pass up celebrating the A's winning the AL West this season.
While MLB celebrations look much different this season due to COVID-19 concerns, a solo Braden still popped champagne after the A's won their first division title since 2013 after the Houston Astros lost to the Seattle Mariners on Monday night.
"Now you didn't think we weren't gonna be poppin' bottles, did you?" The former A's pitcher and current NBC Sports California analyst said Monday night on Twitter. "You hear that Uncle Manfred? That's the sound of victory, my friend. And against all odds, and maybe better judgment, we're poppin' bottles! And we're not stoppin'.
"Sure, the AL West sounds great. Tastes good, but we're not done here. Oh no no no. And there's no amount of immunity that will prevent the Oakland A's from continuing their March into October."
Entering Tuesday, the A's (33-20) are the No. 3 seed in the AL. They're currently set to face the Astros (27-27) in the first round of the playoffs for what would be an intense series between heated rivals.
The A's have not won a playoff series since 2006 when they beat the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS but then were swept by the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS.
