It's a moment the rookie will never forget...and it almost didn't happen.

A's rookie Frank Schwindel launched his first career home run Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers.

Just tucked inside the foul pole, Schwindel's homer was nearly foul.

After rounding the bases and celebrating with his teammates in the dugout, the Rangers decided to review Schwindel's homer. Talk about a buzz-kill.

It's not often that such a special moment is taken away from you so quickly, so Schwindel was relieved to see that the call stood.

It could be the first of many home runs for the right-handed slugger, but hopefully the next one is a little bit more obvious.
