James Kaprielian made his second MLB start for the Athletics on the road in Anaheim on Friday night, but he said it felt like a home game.

Kaprielian is a native of the Los Angeles area and said he had roughly 100 friends and family there watching the A's 8-4 win.

“Tonight was pretty cool, I’m not going to lie,” Kaprielian said. “It felt like a home game to me. Looking up and just all around the stadium people calling me ‘Kappy,’ which is a name I had around the area. Just seeing so many people -- not only family, but people around the community who decided to come out and support tonight.”

The list was long, but Kaprielian admitted he didn’t give everyone free tickets. Former coaches, teachers, old friend’s parents got them.

In 5 2/3 innings, Kaprielian allowed four hits, two earned runs, both of which came on solo homers, and he struck out nine. He got a no-decision.

Kaprielian didn’t expect to see a majority of his friends and family, but that’s what happens in these instances.

“It was unbelievable to be able to pitch in front of everyone -- it was just really special for everyone I think,” Kaprielian added.

“They’re all A’s fans now,” Kaprielian said.
