Ken Waldichuk has made it to The Show.
Waldichuk, who the Athletics acquired from the New York Yankees in the Frankie Montas trade at the deadline, was called up Thursday and will start against the Washington Nationals.
Waldichuk is listed as the A’s top pitching prospect by MLB.com and Baseball America.

In 21 starts (95 innings) this season in the minor leagues, Waldichuk went 6-4 with a 2.84 ERA, and 137 strikeouts.
Since the trade, Waldichuk has made four starts for the Las Vegas Aviators in Triple-A. In 18 2/3 innings, he has allowed seven earned runs (3.38 ERA) and has struck out 21, while walking just three.
Montas hasn't had the same luck to start his Yankees tenure. In five starts (25 2/3 innings), Montas has coughed up 20 earned runs for a 7.01 ERA and has allowed six runs in two of those five outings.
Waldichuk was one of four prospects acquired from the Yankees for Montas and Lou Trivino, joining J.P. Sears, Luis Medina, and Cooper Bowman.

While Sears has made four starts for the A's, Medina plays for the Double-A Midland RockHounds, and Bowman is with the High-A Lansing Lugnuts.
Additionally, Oakland recalled outfielder Cody Thomas from Triple-A and designated right-handed pitcher David McKay for assignment.
