OAKLAND — Khris Davis earned more chants of "MVP" from the Coliseum crowd in Oakland Friday night. Davis belted a pair of home runs, including his fifth career walk-off shot, as the A's rallied past the Twins 7-6 in 10 innings.
Davis set a career high with his league-leading 44th homer in the first inning, but he wasn't done. With the game tied at six in the 10th inning, Davis crushed a Matt Magill offering over the center field wall, and sent the Coliseum crowd into a frenzy.

It was Davis' 22nd career multi-homer game, and his seventh this season. He now leads J.D. Martinez by four home runs for the Major League lead, and ranks second with 120 RBI, also a career best.
With the win, the A's improved to 93-61 and lowered their magic number to clinch a playoff berth to three. They remained 3 1/2 games behind the Astros in the AL West and 1 1/2 games behind the Yankees for the first Wild Card spot.

--- Mark Canha also set a career mark with his 17th home run of the season, a pinch-hit two-run blast in the sixth inning to tie the game at six. Canha has four hits in his last five at-bats, including a homer and two doubles. He ranks second in the American League with 13 home runs against left-handed pitching.
Oakland Athletics
--- Liam Hendriks pitched his seventh straight scoreless first inning as the A's opener, although he did have to work. Hendriks threw 28 pitches, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two. Chris Bassitt followed with four stellar innings, keeping the Twins off the scoreboard and limiting them to a hit and a walk. Bassitt also struck out five and lowered his ERA to 3.09 for the season.
--- Blake Treinen pitched two perfect innings to earn his eighth win of the season against two losses. He lowered his league-leading ERA to 0.83, having allowed just seven earned runs the entire season.
--- Lou Trivino had a nightmare sixth inning, facing four batters and allowing them all to score. Trivino gave up a double, a home run, and two singles before being replaced by Shawn Kelley. Kelley then allowed two earned runs himself.
By the time the inning ended, the Twins plated six runs. The normally reliable A's bullpen has struggled in September, particularly the top setup men. Trivino, Kelley, Jeurys Familia, and Fernando Rodney have combined to allow 23 earned runs in 27 1/3 innings this month for an ERA of 7.57.
