Khrush, Murphy's playoff power exemplified by unique A's stat

Watch out, Khris Davis is back just in time for the playoffs. And he brought his power with him.

The A’s designated hitter smacked his third home run of the postseason in five games on Tuesday in Game 2 of the AL Division Series against the Houston Astros. He homered in Game 1 of the ALDS as well.

Sean Murphy also has hit home runs in consecutive games this postseason, which, according to MLB.com’s Sarah Langs, was the second time the A’s have had two different players homer in any back-to-back games in a single postseason.

This playoff run has been a big power surge for Davis, who had been struggling this season coming off of a tough oblique injury last year. He already has surpassed his regular-season home run total, where he hit just two in 30 games played.
